A BIT ABOUT ME...
WHO I AM
Training as a counsellor brought together two important strands in my life: working on a mental health helpline, and studying psychology with the Open University. I finally felt I was in the right place, doing the right thing, after years in the very different environment of publishing and design.
Along with private client work, I've also volunteered for several counselling agencies locally, including the One-to-One Project in King's Lynn (where I am now a trustee), Lifecraft in Cambridge, the YMCA youth counselling service and the Sue Lambert Trust.
I continue my ongoing professional development with regular training courses. I also have a particular interest in the visual arts in therapy.
I believe counsellors never 'finish' training, as we continue to experience and learn, always seeking to enhance our skills and understanding!
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor, working from an Integrative perspective, meaning that I work alongside you, and am led by you to decide what you want to deal with and how... but also I use knowledge of different practices and ideas to suit the unique situation and needs you bring.
